Do I need the Subclass 600 visitor visa, or can I travel on an ETA or eVisitor?
It depends on your passport. Citizens of countries like the United States, Canada, Japan, and Singapore can typically use the ETA (subclass 601), applied through the government's own Australian ETA mobile app. Citizens of all 27 EU member states and the United Kingdom can apply for the eVisitor (subclass 651), also entirely online. The Subclass 600 visitor visa is for everyone else, including passport holders from China, India, and many other countries, or for anyone applying for a longer stay or a purpose that doesn't fit the ETA or eVisitor.
